Disarm, demilitarize, and dismantle Israel.

As Israel violates the ceasefire killing over 400 people and begins a "limited ground operation" in Gaza during Ramadan, it is time for the world to agree that the war must end and an agreement, perhaps modeled after the Potsdam Agreement, be put in place to fully disarm, demilitarize, and dismantle Israel.
The criminal, terrorist actions of Israel are abundantly clear and meticulously documented. The world has been watching as Israel continues to use its military power to enact genocide, murdering 10s of thousands of civilians while displacing millions in Gaza.
Humanity can no longer allow Israel to act with impunity, endlessly murdering civilians as it carries out a genocide that is being live streamed on the internet. It's time for the world to admit: Israel has shown, repeatedly, that it does not have the moral capacity to be a military power – let alone a nuclear power – and it must be stopped, immediately. The failure of the UN to act decisively in this moment to end the genocide, disarm Israel, and begin the process of dismantling the regime will be a stain on humanity remembered and reflected on for centuries to come.

The disarmament and dismantling of post-World War 2 Germany is not the only model we can learn from; we can examine the aftermath of the collapse of Yugoslavia, as well.
The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia was established to prosecute war crimes perpetrated during the wars following the collapse of Yugoslavia. The war criminal Slobodan Milošević was extradited and put on trial. He was found responsible for ethnic cleansing and violating the Genocide Convention.
Human Rights Watch issued an extensive report on the torture, killing, rape, forced expulsion, and other war crimes committed by forces under Milošević's command against Kosovar Albanians. According to the report, over 860,000 Albanians were expelled from Kosova. Several mass graves have been discovered.

Similarly in Gaza, mass graves have been found showing that the victims' hands were tied. The graves contain the bodies of men, women, children, and hospital staff members. Reports from doctors in Gaza describe how Gazan children are being routinely executed. Videos of sexual abuse of Palestinians prisoners held by Israel at the military torture site known as Sde Teiman have surfaced; reports of gang rape and torture add to the list of crimes.
We need to stop pretending: Netanyahu is no different than Milošević and Israel is no different from any other authoritarian regime that came before it.

The ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. The actions Israel has taken in Gaza and the West Bank undoubtedly constitute genocide and ethnic cleansing. It's time to bring Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders to justice. They must face criminal charges in an international tribunal like war criminals of the past.

As the genocide continues, Israel cements its status as a pariah state.
Israel is the target of international boycotts and protests. It has a climbing government deficit, a sinking credit rating, and a fractured political landscape. It faces growing resentment in the US, particularly amongst American Jews. Jewish Voice for Peace bravely face arrest and harassment as they protest the actions of the regime and stand in solidarity with Palestine.
Despite all of this, Israel continues to tighten its grip on Palestine. It is so blinded by fervent bloodlust that it cannot see its actions are identical to those of all genocidal, authoritarian regimes on the brink of collapse that came before it.
Consider an abbreviated list of Israeli crimes. This list offers a tiny glimpse into the atrocities Israel has committed. Israel is responsible for, at a minimum:
- Shooting an unarmed 11 year old child in the back in the West Bank
- Shooting children in the head in Gaza
- Starving the civilian population of Gaza
- Attacking a tent encampment outside a hospital in Gaza, burning injured patients alive
- Indiscriminately shooting into civilian areas of Gaza during the ceasefire
- Using Gazan civilians as human shields
- Displaying displaced and murdered women's underwear on the personal social media of IDF soldiers
- Firing stun grenades into wedding halls in the West Bank
- Killing 70% of the journalists killed in 2024, the deadliest year for journalists ever recorded
- Deliberately destroying life saving medical equipment in a hospital in Gaza
- Killing an 8-month pregnant Palestinian woman in the West Bank
And this list is just a minuscule fraction of the crimes we know of that Israel has perpetrated; an untold number of horrors are yet to be uncovered.
Is this not sufficient to call for an immediate intervention, cessation of hostilities, and demilitarization?
If not, what more could possibly be necessary in order to end this madness?
